CEREMONIAL BREATHWORK

Encountering Breathwork

Throughout my many years of exploring the worlds of science, spirituality, embodiment practices and naturopathic health, Breathwork is, in my opinion, the most powerful modality for profound personal healing and empowerment.

My first conscious-connected Breathwork journey changed the trajectory of my life forever, inspiring me to pursue training as a Breathwork facilitator under Kaya Leigh of the Sacred Breath Academy, one of the most prestigious and in-depth lineages of conscious-connected Breathwork.

Through utilizing the Sacred Breath Method, you embark on a journey into the depths of your innermost Being. The SBM is holistic, trauma-informed, somatic-based, and parasympathetic-led, designed specifically to create safety in the body and work with your body’s physiology to initiate the profound healing that can occur during the Breathwork experience.

What sets the SBM apart from other Breathwork modalities is that it uses a nose inhale/mouth exhale, whereas most styles nowadays use a mouth inhale/exhale. By utilizing nose inhales in the Breathwork journeys, you are able to activate the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for creating feelings of safety and relaxation in the body’s somatic experience. In addition, the majority of the body’s natural healing capabilities take place while in a parasympathetic state, since your energy is able to be directed towards body restoration as opposed to the “fight-or-flight” response elicited in sympathetic nervous system activation.

As you venture into the Breathwork journey with your body in a parasympathetic state, you are able to safely connect with your deeper psycho-emotional layers, allowing you to process and dissolve these energies in a safe ceremonial container.

why breathwork?

Why would anyone want to do Breathwork? In short, Breathwork contains a vast array of benefits on the physiological, psycho-emotional, mental, and spiritual levels of Being.

On the physical level, Breathwork allows you to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, bringing you out of chronic states of stress, resulting in improved immune function, sleep quality, detoxification and digestion.

In addition to the physical benefits, Breathwork allows you to access repressed emotions that may be living beneath the surface of your conscious awareness. Emotions can be thought of as energy in motion and when emotions are not able to be freely expressed, the energy within the emotions get stored in the body, creating stagnation and stress that keeps us stuck in chronic states of fight-or-flight. Through creating safe containers to freely express the full range of your emotions, you are able to effectively clear these channels and return to the flow of life.

Diving even deeper, Breathwork allows us direct access to our subconscious. Neuroscience now shows that upwards of 95% of our waking reality is actually controlled by our subconscious programming, meaning that our thoughts, behaviors, and decisions are mostly the result of underlying dynamics of which we usually have little to no control over. In addition, the vast majority of these programs are self-limiting and self-deprecating, often based in lack, scarcity, struggle, and competition, keeping you stuck in perpetual cycles that are not serving of the life you truly desire to live.

Through utilizing Breathwork, you are able to gain direct access to these subconscious programs, granting you the opportunity to rewrite these programs in ways that serve you in creating the life you desire. Breathwork is one of the few methods that enables you to access the subconscious layers of reality, allowing you to reconnect with the innate wisdom living inside of you.

Greater levels of embodiment, presence, and personal happiness. Increased levels of compassion, empathy, resiliency, and emotional intimacy. Deeper connection with your true Self and with the Divine Power living within you. This is just some of what Breathwork is able to awaken within you.

Your dreams are not only possible. They are your birthright!

what does a breathwork journey look like?

The Breathwork Journey containers are set up ceremonially to honor the depth and magnitude of what is encountered in these sacred spaces.

We begin with a brief introduction of the technique and an explanation of some of what you may experience during the journey. After that, we being the full circular breath. This portion of the Breathwork journey typically lasts for around one hour, followed by an extended savasana period (30 minutes or more). This allows for a gentle return to the world and creates space for the experience to settle, giving you the opportunity to bask in the benefits of Breathwork and integrate any wisdom or insights that came during the journey. Overall, the entire experience typically lasts around 2.5 to 3 hours.

If you are new to Breathwork, know that it may take a few journeys before you are able to somatically unwind the nervous system. Because of this, I encourage clients to start with 3 sessions in order to receive the most benefits from the experience. However, single sessions are also available.

Below, you will find my offerings for private 1:1 and group Breathwork, as well as my Reiki energy healing sessions, both online and in-person. To set up private group Breathwork journeys, please book a free Discovery Call or send me an email.
